Sharula Estate – The Marula Tasting Room

Your wedding day is a day you wait for your entire life. You’ve planned it all down to the very last detail. Now it is time to book your wedding venue with us!

Sharula Estate is a working Marula farm, we have over 100 Marula trees and they are between 3 and 6 years old. In addition we have a variety of over 20 fruit trees in a separate orchid for the future flavours of our Marula wine and products. We have been waiting patiently for our first harvest which should be in the coming year.

Legends about Marula include Feast of First Fruits, Xikuha Marula Festival, Ngelengele: Banishing the Worms, The Sacred Tree, The Marriage Tree, Determining Babies’ Sex, Sangoma’s Dice, Fertility Fruit, The Elephant Tree, Preventing Bad Spirits, The King’s Nut, and Fire Water. It is known to the Zulu as the “marriage tree,” for it is a symbol of fertility and is used in a cleansing ritual before marriage.

Our Marula Tasting Room is the perfect venue for your special day with spectacular views of Ballito and the ocean in the distance. Seats 130 – 140 people banquet style. Additional space is available should you wish to add a marquee to cater for more guest.

The Marula Tasting Room reception is the area where most of the wedding reception will take place. The multiple doors offer a spacious feel, inviting nature inside and showcasing our breathtaking views. The spacious double volume ceiling is perfect for keeping the venue cool during Summer.

We offer a “blank canvas” so you can save by arrange your own outside caterer, decor and wedding planner. Our pricing structure offers a venue rental agreement. By organising your own food, refreshments and decor you can manage your costs and save towards your future home or honeymoon getaway.
